Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate is ClockNow?

ClockNow compares your device with our server clock several times, keeps the sample with the shortest network delay and corrects for it. The result is usually accurate to a few hundredths of a second, depending on your connection.

Why does it say my clock is ahead or behind?

Your device keeps its own time, which can drift. If it is off by more than a second or two, turn on “set time automatically” in your device settings and reload the page.

Is ClockNow free?

Yes. ClockNow is free to use and is supported by advertising.

Do I need an account?

No. Everything works without signing up. Saved cities and settings are stored in your browser only.

How do I see the time in another city?

Type the city or country into the search box and pick a result, or tap a city in the world clock grid. You can also browse all cities A–Z.

How does ClockNow handle daylight saving time?

Times follow the official IANA time zone rules, so daylight saving changes are applied automatically. See daylight saving time for upcoming change dates.

Why is the weather slightly different from my local forecast?

Weather is model data from Open-Meteo for the city’s coordinates, refreshed about every hour. It is a quick guide, not an official forecast.

Will the alarm ring if I close the tab?

No. The alarm, timer and countdown run in your browser, so keep the tab open and your volume on.

Are the public holidays official?

Holiday lists are based on open data and checked regularly, but governments sometimes add or move holidays. Please check official sources for important plans and tell us if something is wrong.

Can I use ClockNow on my phone?

Yes. ClockNow works in any modern browser on phones, tablets and computers.

How can I advertise on ClockNow?

See our Advertise page.

How do I report a mistake?
