A total solar eclipse on August 2, 2027
On August 2, 2027, a total solar eclipse will cross southern Spain, Gibraltar, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Somalia. Near Luxor in Egypt, the sun will be completely covered for up to about 6 minutes and 23 seconds, an unusually long total eclipse. Greatest eclipse is at about 10:08 UTC, which is 1:08 PM in Luxor, as Egypt will be on summer time.
